Maren Powers
Maren Powers is a practicing middle school language arts teacher at Washington Fields Intermediate School (a Model PLC at Work school) in St. George, Utah. She was integral in the opening and implementation of the PLC process and school culture at WFIS. Her focus as a teacher-leader helped WFIS gain Model PLC at Work status after its third year open.
During her time in the Washington County School District, she has worked at two Model PLC at Work schools, and because of her experience as a teacher, she has learned how to carry out the work successfully. Maren is passionate about helping other educators implement, coach and lead through the PLC process.
In 2020, Maren received the Rebecca Dufour Scholarship, which celebrates ten women educators across the country who demonstrate exceptional leadership in their school community. Maren is also the coauthor of the upcoming Solution Tree book Simplifying the Journey.
